The high versatility of our smart ESISA modules comes from an enhanced Application Environment (AE) that complements the basic AE of µPMOS by default, the ObjectWorkplace Embedded AE (OWP).
The ObjectWorkplace AE paves the way for high-level embedded application development. It is defined by a standard that specifies a universal, secured architecture for both, graphics and text mode user interfaces especially suited for embedded applications including a data centric document/ part based architecture, the distribution of documents, parts and code accross local and remote systems, etc.
The ObjectWorkplace AE adds many new classes to the system and the FDE integrates seamlessly into it. This improves the versatility of the OE and offers easy access to high level functions and data types necessary to master complex development tasks. In addition, the OWP AE unifies system access that is, applications share the same type of interface across different systems. This greatly increases ease of use of embedded applications deploying the ObjectWorkplace AE.
ObjectWorkplace is thoroughly documented. A programming guide and reference will also be available. In addition, we maintain a website for reflecting the evolution of the standard please refer to www.objectworkplace.org.
Like the FDE, the ObjectWorkplace AE is part of the µPMOS distribution residing in ROM of any ESISA SBC and Smart I/O module and comes at no additional charge. Refer to the ObjectWorkplace AE product page for details.
