Embedded Standards: ObjectWorkplace Embedded Desktop

The ObjectWorkplace Embedded Desktop standard defines a universal, secured architecture for both, graphics and text mode user interfaces especially suited for embedded applications. Built on an object oriented code base, ObjectWorkplace also offers an object oriented interface, a reduced set of optimized screen controls, a solid metaclass/ class concept and a data centric document/ part based architecture; the distribution of documents, parts and code accross local and remote systems and much more.

The standard not only minutely defines the look and feel of the interface but also data transaction protocols between documents and their parts, security concepts, methods of class maintenance and the development rules to define new classes.

Visit the project's new homepage where the standard will be published for further information.
